We don’t have a short breakfast time because we think days should start leisurely. Breakfast runs from 8.30 until 10’ish, but all things are changeable with a little notice.

Everything is freshly cooked to order. Sip a Pilgrims coffee made from their very own roastery on nearby Holy Island. Choose from a large tea selection for those who know their Rington’s brew from their Lapsang Souchong.

St Valery Supper Evenings

Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 and the restrictions being placed on restaurants and capacity,  we have been trialling a new idea of offering a set 2 course simple supper at St Valery on certain evenings.  Dinner is a served at about 7pm and is a relaxed affair – we are unfortunately unable to cater to specific dietary requests/allergies.  The menu on the night is subject to change and should be used as a guide.  A vegetarian option is possible, but you must let us know at the time of booking.

During August, September & October we will be offering St Valery Suppers on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.  During November and December we will be dropping down to just Friday evenings.

Sample Menu

Monday Chicken ruby – Dishoom’s take on a butter chicken, tender chicken in a rich silky ‘makhani’ sauce. A good and proper curry redolent with spice. Followed by treacle tart.

Wednesday – Moussaka – a timeless recipe for a Greek Cypriot classic, Georgina Hayden’s authentic moussaka is as good as it gets.   Followed by sticky toffee pud.

FridayChicken and chorizo jambalaya – chicken thighs, slow roasted with fresh chorizo, Spanish smoked paprika, tomatoes and coriander create a delicious smoky chicken dish mixed with rice.  Followed by sticky toffee pud.

Price per person: £20

Bottles of our house merlot and house sauvignon blanc are available for £12 or 500ml carafe for £8 or if you just fancy a glass, for £4

(should you wish to bring your own wine, a corkage fee of £5 will be charged)

Indulge in a Full English or sample the signature St Valery Marmite Mushrooms on toasted sourdough. Stay with us at the weekend and you may discover our weekend specials too.

Sometimes, you just need cake. Which is why every afternoon at St Valery gives you the chance to recharge after a day’s beachcombing, walking, cycling, or sunning. Check in for the daily bake-off where sweet treats await.

Butcher. Baker. Candlestick maker. With so many brilliant suppliers around us, all our food is fresh and local wherever possible.

A Proper Cup of Tea

Rington’s Tea (made just down the road in Newcastle) and Pilgrim’s Fair Trade coffee is all in your room. All the yummy treats to tuck into like biscuits and tray bakes are replenished daily.

Honesty Bar

Help yourself to a drink from the St Valery honesty bar. Perfect for a glass of wine before dinner, a cold lager on a hot day, a large G&T just because, right the way through to the post walk brandy to warm the cockles on the coldest of days. There are even perfectly sized bottles of champagne for two. Or one, if you’re thirsty.

House Hampers

Going out for the day? Your St Valery hamper has everything you need to make picnicking easy. Lazy days or active ones, take a house hamper with you and you’ll be all set to lunch wherever the adventure takes you.  We need about 48 hours notice, so just drop us an email before your stay.  (we apologise but our house hampers are not currently available during 2020)
