How to find us
Alnmouth is easy to find, just a few miles from Alnwick off the A1 – take the exit for Alnwick and then follow signs for Ashington and Alnmouth (A1068). Cross over the bridge at the entrance to the village and turn right at the war memorial. As of early December 2016, an experimental one-way system is being trialed in the village, so you’ll now need to turn left up The Wynd and follow the road along the golf course and come into the village from the bottom of Northumberland Street. Continue up the main street away from the sea – you’ll pass the Red Lion Inn on your left and the church on your right, St Valery is located on the left hand side, just before The Sun Inn.
We’re just 3.5hrs from London King’s Cross by train, and under an hour from Edinburgh on the East Coast Line. Tickets can be booked online with Virgin Trains.
Newcastle International Airport is approximately 35 miles. The journey from the airport by train to Newcastle Central Station takes around 25 minutes. From there you can take the East Coast Line direct to Alnmouth station.
We don’t have any private parking at St Valery, it’s all on street. Alnmouth can get very busy and parking is all first come, first served. So if you can’t find a space right outside, you can stop briefly on the double yellow lines outside to drop your bags off and we’ll be waiting for you when you find a spot. You may need to drive around the village a few times – unfortunately as part of the council’s latest traffic management scheme, the village has lost a large amount of parking since late 2016 which the residents are appealing to the council to resolve, so please bear with us.

Because it’s a hideaway we’ve built for grown-ups, we’re really sorry but we can’t accept any children under the age of 18.
